The vault curriculum

Six sequential modules designed for Singapore working adults who want disciplined personal finance workflows assisted by AI — without crossing into regulated investment advice or product sales.

Structure

Sequential, auditable, practical

Each module spans two studio sessions with homework that uses your own data or our anonymised case files. You advance when your deliverables meet checklist standards — not when a calendar date passes. Cohorts cap at fourteen so instructors can review every learner's vault folder.

Total contact time is approximately thirty-six hours over ten weeks, with optional office hours on Wednesday evenings. Materials remain accessible for twelve months after your cohort ends.

01

Foundations — Organising Your Money with AI

Begin by inventorying every account, liability, and recurring commitment in your household. You will define a chart of categories that reflects Singapore life — utilities bundled in condo maintenance, Season Parking, MediShield Life premiums, and overseas remittance when applicable. AI tools help draft the initial category tree from plain-language descriptions you provide, but you validate each branch before it enters your vault ledger. By module end, you will have a single source-of-truth spreadsheet linked to import routines for your primary banks, with naming rules documented so a spouse or executor could continue the system without guesswork.

02

AI-Assisted Budgeting & Cash-Flow Control

Move from static monthly budgets to rolling cash-flow models that accommodate irregular income — AWS payouts, director fees, or variable commissions common among Singapore professionals. Learn to set guardrails: minimum operating balance, sinking funds for property tax and insurance, and discretionary caps you can explain in a five-minute household meeting. AI assists by generating variance commentary and suggesting reallocation scenarios, always presented as drafts you edit. You will practise mid-month corrections using real transaction feeds, building the habit of reviewing categories weekly rather than panic-adjusting at year end.

03

Securing & Structuring Financial Records with AI

Records are the walls of your vault. This module covers digital filing for statements, warranties, policy schedules, and tax correspondence. You will implement folder hierarchies, checksum backups, and redaction workflows before sharing excerpts with family or advisers. AI helps extract key dates and amounts from PDF scans, flagging discrepancies for human review. We discuss retention periods aligned with common Singapore practice and how to prepare a "financial briefcase" for life events — relocation, medical leave, or handing responsibilities to an adult child.

04

Financial Forecasting & Reporting with AI Tools

Forecasting is not prophecy; it is structured assumption-testing. You will build quarterly outlooks that separate known commitments from discretionary plans, document inflation and salary assumptions explicitly, and produce one-page summaries suitable for household councils. AI drafts narrative paragraphs explaining chart movements — for example, why medical spending rose in Q2 — which you refine for accuracy and tone. Reports exclude product recommendations; the focus stays on your numbers, your goals, and the trade-offs you choose to make.

05

AI Spreadsheets & Personal Finance Dashboards

Consolidate modules one through four into living dashboards built in spreadsheet tools you control — typically Google Sheets or Excel with optional helper scripts. Charts update from structured tables, not opaque app feeds. You will design views for different audiences: a detailed operator view for yourself, a simplified health check for your partner, and an annual snapshot for long-term planning. AI accelerates formula drafting and conditional-formatting rules, while you retain edit access and version history. No vendor lock-in, no hidden API dependencies.

06

Capstone — Build Your AI Money Vault

The capstone integrates every prior deliverable into a documented personal money vault: category schema, budget model, record index, forecast templates, and dashboards cross-linked in a master index page. You present a fifteen-minute walkthrough to your cohort, demonstrating how you would onboard a new household member or recover from a lost device. Instructors assess completeness, clarity, and responsible AI use — citing sources, marking AI-generated passages, and maintaining human approval logs. Graduates leave with an artefact they can maintain for years, not a certificate that gathers dust.
